Stopped by this cute shop after spending the afternoon at the pub across the way, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the array of Brit items offered. Everything from Walkers crisps to Cadbury treats, Digestives, PG Tips and homemade baked goods (fresh and warm at the counter or available to purchase frozen). As a vegetarian I was thrilled to see a veggie sausage roll offered! We ordered the cheese, onion and mash pasty and a jumbo sausage roll. Both were authentic, affordable, and absolutely delicious. I am so excited to have found a shop that sells all of my favorite goodies from across the pond. The tea room on the porch looked adorable and we will certainly be back for a sit-down experience. Excellent hospitality!
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Shakespeare no longer does afternoon tea. We made a reservation and came to the India street location and were informed that they now serve their afternoon tea at Britannia Tea Shoppe about 19 minutes away. Their shoppe is lovely full of wonderful British groceries and candy!
This is a very cool English shop and tea garden. Well, it does not have a garden, but there's a very nice patio right in front. I picked up a few scones while I was here. I wanted a coffee too, but they do not offer it, just tea. The cherry and almond scones were quite good. I really like scones that come with some sort of nut and berry. These were great. The shop has a variety of imported British goods and nick knacks. I liked the variety of cookies and chocolates they offer. It's a very cool place and customer service is very friendly. Check out the cones!
I've always wanted to have afternoon tea here but never had the chance. I've seen alot of people celebrate their bridal showers here and it's very cute. Our friends just came back from Ireland and wanted to make us a proper Irish breakfast. They found out Shakespere sells all the items they needed to make it. The store also sells candies and teas they found in Ireland too. It's such a cute little store. Lots of cute and fun souvenirs too.
It's our first time trying out this place. It's in a nice home-looking building, very refreshing inside since it' felt like I'm enjoying tea in my own patio kind of vibe. The lady who served our teas and snacks were very nice and knowledgeable on the teas they're serving. I was surprised on how good their portions are on the delicacies and desserts, I actually came out of the experience pretty full. Parking can be hard as it needs to be side street parking.
Had a pleasant experience here with some friends for afternoon tea. Make sure to call in advance for a reservation! Allot time to find street parking or pay $5 for 4 hours of valet. Walk up the stairs as you would to go to Shakespeare's Pub and you'll see the Corner Shoppe on the left. I walked to the back of the store to check-in with the cashiers. Was nice to browse the selection of imported goods. Alas an employee let me know our table was ready. The table was gorgeously set with high quality dishware. The menus were affixed to our chairs. There's a plethora of tea options. I opted for the London Fog. High quality and flavorful, served in a beautiful pink kettle. The food was a delight. We began with a creamy tomato bisque. Very savory and rich. Even had a bit of kick from spice! Next, a three tier tower of sandwiches, pastries, and a scone. Finally, a dessert course featuring a mini cupcake, cookie, and raspberry parfait. Super great. We were absolutely stuffed by the end. A fantastic mix of savory and sweet options. The service was solid as well. The menu rotates every month. Pricing comes out to about $55/person with tax and tip. Check it out if you're looking for afternoon tea!
My baby cousin was in town to visit me and I knew I had to take her to an unique experience. But it was such a short notice. I really wanted to take her to afternoon tea but reservations were so hard to come by! There's only 4 tables here! But luckily I was added to the waitlist and would receive a text if I got off it. As the days pass by, I was able to get off the list!!!! They have been so accommodating in the phone because we were celebrating her birthday and they made sure about our food allergies. The experience itself was so cute. We each could choose our teas and have our own pot. There is a set menu every month and I loved it so so so much I highly recommend for gal pal time, a date or celebrating something.
I was going to a show at the NCT right next door and wanted to see why 20 people just passed me and went right in to Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe. I walked in and saw why. They were on a mission to get candy and snacks, which there are plenty of inside Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe. Definitely an English theme, all kinds of knickknacks, Tchotchkes, teas and foods from Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe. Friendly staff, plenty of stuff to choose from. There is street parking nearby, and it is located upstairs.
